Measured characteristics of the MIMO wireless channel

چکیده
This paper presents results from an experimental platform designed to measure the transfer matrix for indoor and outdoor multipleinput multiple-output (MIMO) channels with up to 16 transmit and receive antenna elements. Key aspects of the hardware system and data post-processing techniques are provided. A variety of measurements have been taken with the platform at 2.45 GHz in a typical indoor environment. The collected data has been processed to highlight a variety of channel features, including the statistical distributions of the channel matrix elements and the inherent capacity of the wireless MIMO channel for different numbers of antenna elements, polarizations, and element directivities.

A Multiband Multiple-input Multiple-output Antenna System for Long Term Evolution and Wireless Local Area Networks Handsets
A novel multiband multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) antenna system is proposed. The MIMO antenna system consists of two antenna elements, each of which comprises of three radiators: a driven monopole, an S-shaped strip and an inverted F-shaped strip and occupies footprint of 15x18.5x0.8 mm3 only. The driven monopole acts as a quarter-wave monopole and stimulate higher mode resonance. The tw...

متن کاملModels for MIMO propagation channels: a review
SUMMARY This paper reviews recently published results on multiple input multiple output (MIMO) channel modeling. Both nar-rowband and wideband models are considered. We distinguish between two main approaches to MIMO channel modeling, namely, physically based and non-physically based modeling. The non-physical models primarily rely on the statistical characteristics of the MIMO channels obtaine...

This paper presents measured data from a narrowband multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) channel probe in an indoor office/laboratory environment. The system employs ten transmit and ten receive antennas and computes the 10 10 narrowband channel matrix at 2.45 GHz every 80 milliseconds. We use the data to study the statistical behavior of the channel coefficients and the resulting channel capa...
